Confession: I don’t have a new project this week. After getting BASIC running on the Project:65 computer, I’ve taken a little time off to relax and enjoy what I’ve created. That means, for example, that I’ve been running a BASIC version of Conway’s simulation game Life, just to watch what happens – very slowly.
I haven’t been slacking completely, though. I created a new Project Page to collect all the posts on the P:65 computer. Eventually, I’d like to add some more resources to that page – links, schematics, code, etc. I need to draw a clean schematic of the entire thing, but that’s actually proving to be a lot of work. I’d also like to do some more involved videos showing off what it can do.
I’ve also been thinking about what to do next. I’ve got several ideas for Project:65 phase 2. Real graphics output and keyboard input would be really cool, for example. But I think first it’s going to be time for a change of pace. I’ve been focusing on this project for a couple months now, so it’s time to take a break before burning out on it.
I haven’t decided exactly what to do next, but I’ve got a couple ideas in mind. I’ve been neglecting my Raspberry pi recently, and I’ve got some really neat toys for my Arduino that I’ve hardly had a chance to play with. I’ve got some more actual retrocomputers to play with it. And I might even write some software for something a little more up to date. One way or another, it’ll be fun.
